Forward

Some of us, as leaders, go through a series of purpose-expressions, a series of careers, as we grow, learn and become more and more of who we are meant  to be.  Others find one avenue immediately after high school or college and stay with that one expression of their vision throughout much of their life. Whichever path you follow is yours, not right or wrong, just yours..

The one core truth we learn, however, is that whatever path we choose, there will be a continuous series of opportunities for growth or stagnation. For living our truth or being in self-betrayal. Choosing leadership, consciously or otherwise, requires that we be ready to grow in order to deal with all the challenges, opportunities, and expansions that happen as our vision takes on a life of its own. That choosing can support compassion, understanding, and a greater leadership skill as those around us go through their process as well.

As leaders, we are challenged at times to decide if we are ready or even want to grow to that next level, to lead at that level, to become even more of who we are.

If you are human, you will at times want to stop, to breath, to reconsider your choices. That is never a failing, or a weakness, rather it is an amazing gift you give yourself. When you have grown significantly, or when it is time to grow significantly,  stopping to catch up with yourself, to integrate all that is happening, is a smart and solid way of strengthening your foundation, your connection to your Spirit,  to your purpose, and to you.

Use these articles as a means to do that.

Today on our Podcast, Truth and Double Daring with Dottie and Diane, we had an amazing guest. Patrice Tanaka, who I happened to have met 2 weeks ago in NYC at her birthday party of all places. I was so completely impressed with her that I asked her immediately after to be a guest on our show. As any good…

When you have a business that has transitioned numerous times, and each business stage calls out different aspects of who you are, it can be easy to forget what your initial soul-longings really were. As one who keeps up daily with what is happening in the world of business coaching, consulting, and corporate success, I am dutifully impressed with the increasing talk of emotional intelligence, living or purpose, purpose-driven organizations, and so much more. Although it certainly is still not “the rage” value-driven work is gaining ground. It begins with a company discovering its…

Letting the Wounds Go

In my work with executives, highly skilled, good people, with great intentions, I frequently see out-of-place and unrealistic demands that they place on themselves, usually with great “justifications.” I also see so many of them readily assuming unrealistic and inhumane demands from their company. It is easy to blame all this on today’s demands, yet with little effort, we discover…

The Power of One

I attended an amazing conference in Las Vegas a couple weeks ago. It was held by a woman who decided to leave a high-level corporate job and instead open her own business, training others to bring their skills into the corporate world.  As I did with my school, she recognized that although her work was powerful and transformative, the power…

As I spend time with friends who are reaching further on a regular basis to create an impact, to do good, I can’t help but be impressed by their willingness to risk, to take chances, to face their fears and then try something bigger, better, and more powerful. It excites me and gives me permission, if not inspiration, to do…

Choosing Miracles

Today, the first day of April, is Easter Sunday for many of the World’s Christians. It is a day of celebrating the miracle of life over death. In addition, this week is Pesach, or Passover, for the World Jewish Community; commemorating their journey and the blessings that followed. For many more still, April is a month of spiritual and/or religious…

What’s Your New Brand?

By Articles, Uncategorized

This has been a week of early mornings and late nights revising every single page of my website. Loving every single minute of it. Creating landing pages for so many other offerings, revising articles I wrote a while ago, and, finally, creating the new “brand” of who I am and what I believe needs to be the next focus of…
