In spite of some fears, we have made it. It’s New Year’s Day. The beginning of a new, or the continuation of an old, way of life.

This past week, between Christmas and New Year’s, is my time to reevaluate my values, my focus, and my way of living day-by-day.  Some parts I will continue, some parts I will discontinue.

Bottom line is how do I want to do this year? What will be my driving energy? Always inner-peace is the basic driver but secondarily, passion, ease and flow are my choices.  What a great way to do life…

As you begin the year, in learning from the past year, do not allow the news, the stories in your head, or other people’s perceived urgencies govern your life. We are here to live life as the gift it is.

I truly believe each one of us has come into this life with a particular life lesson to learn that supports our personal growth as well as a life purpose to help make this world a better place.

In discovering your particular life lesson, what lesson keeps hitting you in the head? What lesson seems to be pointed out to you again and again, yet you never quite get it? Is it to stand in integrity? To be focused? To be honest with yourself? To take risks? What? I assure it when it is a major life lesson we are reminded with a slight touch on the cheek. If we don’t get it then, we are hit with what feels like quite a slap. If that doesn’t work, it seems the 2×4 approach gets used… Job loss, cancer, an accident, etc. So often I have worked with folks in a hospital room and they will say to me “I finally got the message…..” We all learn differently. Be good to yourself, you’ll get it eventually if you haven’t already. NO rush, tomorrow is good.

Your life purpose in making this world a better place? What feeds your passion? What makes you feel like your best self? What calls you to expand? Stick your chest out? Feel so much more than ever before? That is the thing that does it. It doesn’t matter how big or how small they all count and they all are needed.

We needed Mother Theresa but we also need that bagger at the supermarket who makes us feel so pleased with life and/or ourselves after a long day of work. Each has their own calling in making this world a better place to be.

God bless in discovering your major life lesson as well as in acknowledging that the world needs you. You are the gift someone or someone’s need… Welcome to your life!!!!!
