Forward

Some of us, as leaders, go through a series of purpose-expressions, a series of careers, as we grow, learn and become more and more of who we are meant  to be.  Others find one avenue immediately after high school or college and stay with that one expression of their vision throughout much of their life. Whichever path you follow is yours, not right or wrong, just yours..

The one core truth we learn, however, is that whatever path we choose, there will be a continuous series of opportunities for growth or stagnation. For living our truth or being in self-betrayal. Choosing leadership, consciously or otherwise, requires that we be ready to grow in order to deal with all the challenges, opportunities, and expansions that happen as our vision takes on a life of its own. That choosing can support compassion, understanding, and a greater leadership skill as those around us go through their process as well.

As leaders, we are challenged at times to decide if we are ready or even want to grow to that next level, to lead at that level, to become even more of who we are.

If you are human, you will at times want to stop, to breath, to reconsider your choices. That is never a failing, or a weakness, rather it is an amazing gift you give yourself. When you have grown significantly, or when it is time to grow significantly,  stopping to catch up with yourself, to integrate all that is happening, is a smart and solid way of strengthening your foundation, your connection to your Spirit,  to your purpose, and to you.

Use these articles as a means to do that.

Celebrating the future

To the Future

By Articles, Blog, Energy, Mindset, Transition

Most of the notices we are seeing now remind us to be thankful for all that we have and certainly we do have great abundance. A frequent saying I have been using lately is a reminder that most of my problems are definitely “first world problems.” Waiting in long lines to make purchases, an order not arriving on time, not…

Letting Go

By Articles, Blog, Energy, Mindfulness, Mindset, Planning, Transition

In preparing for my move to a new home, I discovered that in addition to the normal anxiety, excitement, anticipation, and longing for peace and being settled, there was also the need to let go. To let go of things I never anticipated leaving behind and to things far less tangible as well.  Moving into a home with a dramatically…

On occasion I have someone ask: “What does a coach do?” “Is it like therapy?”  The answer is always “yes and no.”  Therapy, as described, is the use of psychological methods, particularly when based on regular personal interaction, to help a person change behavior, increase happiness, and overcome problems.”  Coaching, as described, is a professional relationship that helps people produce…

My beautiful sister who has spent the past 30 years alongside her husband has lost him, and the world has lost a man of amazing humor, goodness, and grace. Listening to the many, many, people Mike has supported over the years as they “walked with Bill” brought tears to the eyes of all of us in attendance at his Celebration…

I KNOW you have had one of those days where, after a great day before, great sessions with clients, a great speaking engagement, having them in tears and uproarious laughter in turns, selling and signing loads of books, and meeting some really great people, and you then wake up in the morning nothing goes right; your email doesn’t work, you…

Change As a Gift Calling You Forward

By Articles, Blog, Mindset, Transition

Periodically, we are called to update, or re-envision, our lives and/or our businesses. Sometimes it’s the result of an outside situation. Death of a loved one, a major illness, loss of a company, or something else traumatic in nature. Sometimes, however, it is simply because we are being called, yet again, to shift, grow, and change. Whatever the reason, for…

A Smorgasbord Week

By Articles, Blog, Health, Mental Health, Mindset, Relationships, Transition

This is one of those weeks where life is a smorgasbord of activities. Some have been incredibly sad, some wonderfully exciting, others simply demanding so much time and creativity, and thankfully also those moments that are pure bliss. It is so easy to become ungrounded, reactionary, and angry in the midst of such emotional turmoil and seemingly conflicting emotions. Haven’t…
