Warming up for the Holidays

By December 1, 2010Articles, Blog
Now that Thanksgiving Day has passed, the realization of how blessed we truly are remains. A day with extended family and friends can show us how far we have come in our own right and yet also how close we want to stay with those we love.  Thanksgiving was the warm-up for this month!
Ironically, the best way to be truly close to others is in being grounded in yourself and in your journey. Those are the qualities that make you comfortable in your skin allowing you to truly be present with those you meet and spend time with.  If you aren’t there yet what do you need to do to get there?  I mention this now because it can become so easy – if we don’t have a focus – to get caught in the holiday spree of this month, in running around, rushing to fit as much as possible into a limited time frame,  and all while trying to enjoy holiday cheer.
It also puts the focus of the upcoming month where it belongs, on connecting with others, in ways we may not have during the course of the year. That is the best gift worth giving.
