The Power of One

By June 10, 2018Articles, Uncategorized

I attended an amazing conference in Las Vegas a couple weeks ago. It was held by a woman who decided to leave a high-level corporate job and instead open her own business, training others to bring their skills into the corporate world.  As I did with my school, she recognized that although her work was powerful and transformative, the power of community was so much greater.

She encourages community throughout each event she holds, setting up opportunities to really get to know each other, to create a support community as well as to create a company “team” of supportive members to call in when you get a very large engagement. If you know someone who could supplement your work, someone you could trust and bring on to represent you in your work with everyone winning ,you end up with the best of both worlds. You have your own company plus a trusted cadre of experts  to call in as needed.

She is one woman who has the ability to impact the companies of hundreds of followers through her teachings and her influence, and she does. Imagine the power of just one woman to impact so many…..

I am sure you could tell me stories of so many others, men and women, who have that impact. The difference is, for each one of us, it is all a matter of choice. What choice have you chosen to make? What impact are you having on this world around you? What gift or wisdom of yours are you sharing to support the growth or peace of others?

For some, they choose to have impact on many continents. Some in many states and some in many towns. The scope of your impact is irrelevant. We all have different callings and different life purposes. And just to confuse it even more, how we live our purpose changes as we grow and our values and abilities shift.

The one significant factor in all this is the choice we make. One person has the power to change lives in a split second. I read this morning of a man raised in an abusive foster home who says that a variety of random people over those years complimenting him, sharing something with him allowed him to see himself as visible, as worthy. It fed his soul and gave him the strength to survive. Later one teacher took him in for a week – and for one week he had a father-figure that cared. The power of one……..  A series of one can move mountains and yet simply one change a world.

Are  you willing to own that power? Have you done so already? If so, I applaud you. Now, for each one of us comes the decision to make it a lifestyle – to live our lives  – on purpose, recognizing the power of one; one man, one women, on day at a time, is all it takes to change to world and the lives of all we meet. Go for it, just know how it is you want to get there, lovingly, compassionately, and with impact.

With Love,
