I have written before about how important it is to know your values, in life and in your business. Only by being able to identify what you believe, what your guideposts in life are, can you most fully live the truth of who you are. Transparency, integrity, and commitment come naturally, if not easily, when we are in touch with and living our core truths.

We are in a time where we are being fed so many distortions, so many lies, and so many biased opinions that finding the truth externally can be very difficult. It’s what calls us to be so certain of our inner-life, our connection to what makes us, us.

So many events I have been involved with this week have either been cancelled because of Covid or are in the process of being questioned, virtual or in-person? when we all thought, or at least hoped, that issue was resolved.

Surprise, the gift of life is its ability to teach us adaptability; to support fluidity; and to call us to have great humor and faith, (patience wouldn’t hurt either). We need those in spades right now…… Humor occurs when we don’t take us or our lives so seriously that everything is considered life or death – success or failure. The appointment is cancelled? – life will go on.  Your conference will be virtual? You will survive that trauma. Someone didn’t speak nice to you, or even notice you? Oh my…. Good possibility is that they are lost in their own little world, and it has nothing to do with you.

Laughing at yourself and the places you can go, the stories you can create, gives you the chance to step back and see infinity rather than sinking into a hole like Alice in Wonderland…. To see that what you were just saying to yourself was most likely a story you created to try to make you OK. Laugh at your humanity, learn what you need, breathe, and come on back out to the rest of the world.

Faith is the gift that shows up when you realize there is a purpose for everything. When you truly see, in looking at your past and your present, that life has consistently happened for you, not to you. It’s that knowing, that understanding of Universal Law, that makes everything far more than bearable, it makes it all an adventure.

Not always a fun adventure, more like roller coaster that is exciting, and you want it, yet when you are about to fly off that cliff you want to change your mind, you want to research more, speak to more folks, prepare a bit more, do anything other than what’s next, yet here you go….

Whatever your life brings in this week, whatever reversals or adaptations you are required to make, do them with laughter, with a knowing that all will be Ok. What are you going to learn doing things this way that you wouldn’t have learned doing it the planned way? What unexpected adventure are you going to have – or – be protected from?

Enjoy the trip. Life is an adventure so make sure you pack plenty of humor and plenty of faith. You’ll need both.
