In ancient times, even to a few hundred years ago, it was an accepted practice to have a rite of passage at the point of adolescence. Calling boys and girls, into adulthood, into their leadership. Sadly, in most places, that practice has been lost.

Sadly, because preparation for true success begins with personal transformation – the spiritual awakening – that forgotten rite of passage. We are all called to leadership, every one of us – for some it is as a leader in government – or a major corporation – our own company – our family or simply our legacy. How we lead, and where we lead from, will define the purity, the purpose, the reach, and the authenticity of our leadership.

Leading from ego, will, force, and survival, can bring some success but the price we pay by living in fear, and with something to prove to ourselves or others is high. We never really get the chance to experience ourselves because the leader within has been pushed aside and replaced by reaction to things outside of ourselves.

Ideally, before heading off into your future, if possible, if not, at that point where you realize it has just been about work, not purpose, success not impact, and security not meaning, that rite of passage through personal transformation is needed.

The impact on your health, spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially, is profound. You learn to fly ahead, after taking a step back. Most importantly, you start or transform your life story, your ability to succeed and to live your life’s purpose versus survive. From that place there is no such thing as “imposter syndrome.” There is no such thing as “I wish.” Rather “I intend.” And your next stage begins with all of who you are in it.  In that place is the joy, the peace, the intuitive knowing, the trusting of self with the willingness to bring in support as needed, always realizing if you can envision it, you can achieve it, you simply need to learn the how.

In discovering the rite of passage, and teaching it to thousands over the years, what I have seen in those who were ready, was the elimination of a victim mentality, the claiming of physical health, developing far greater emotional intelligence, and discovering a spiritual purpose. The transformation from survival, burn-out, exhaustion, and simply hiding who they were into folks who could stand tall in peace, self-love, joy, and passionate vision was a gift beyond words. I wish that for all of us. What a life-giving experience that is…. When you are ready, call….
