As the Season Begins…

By October 2, 2017April 2nd, 2018Articles, Uncategorized

As summer disappears and a new season begins, it is time for a new reflection on your year so far.

Did you make a vision board in January? Did you set in a journal your plans for the year? How close are you to achieving what you hoped or planned to achieve this year?

There’s a big difference you know between hoping and planning.  One can be blissfully passive while the other requires thought and ACTION. So, the question becomes, what actions have you taken to make your dreams – your plans for the year – a reality?

Since we are all human, it’s easy to find distractions, mixed priorities, insecurities, and/or fears to convince us either other things are more important or that they probably wouldn’t work anyway.  That is the challenge of the journey and of our growth.

One of my goals this year was to expand my reach in order to work with more leaders, whether in leadership of their lives or of their careers. In doing that, it required my changing the networking groups I met with. Expanding my circle. Offering more tools, products, and responses to comments made on LinkedIn or elsewhere. It also meant reaching out to more and more to people.

Amazingly, and perhaps because I now seem to spend a majority of time on Zoom (a higher-end version of Skype) in group calls or seeing clients, I remembered that a change of scenery does wonders to get us out of a rut, stagnation, or a lack of increased creativity. Consequently, this past week when my mentor, who in addition to being a leadership coach/consultant has developed a non-profit to help orphaned Syrian refugees in the camps of Greece find homes, invited me to Greece for a week to both sight-see and hopefully brainstorm and support her work, I jumped on it.

What do you do when you know you need a change of scenery to jump-start your dream or vision? What ACTION do you take to reinvigorate yourself? Growth, success, change, and joy comes from ACTION.  What’s your action as this new season begins and we are called to prepare for the next changes in Mother Nature’s expression?

Remember, you have 3 months left to make this year’s dreams and visions a reality. It’s not too late.  You deserve every single one that you envisioned. I truly believe that we are shown a dream because it is time for it to come to fruition fully or for the preparation of it to begin. However, it requires our commitment not just our thoughts.

GO FOR IT – Life is short so live it to the fullest…
