Forward

Some of us, as leaders, go through a series of purpose-expressions, a series of careers, as we grow, learn and become more and more of who we are meant  to be.  Others find one avenue immediately after high school or college and stay with that one expression of their vision throughout much of their life. Whichever path you follow is yours, not right or wrong, just yours..

The one core truth we learn, however, is that whatever path we choose, there will be a continuous series of opportunities for growth or stagnation. For living our truth or being in self-betrayal. Choosing leadership, consciously or otherwise, requires that we be ready to grow in order to deal with all the challenges, opportunities, and expansions that happen as our vision takes on a life of its own. That choosing can support compassion, understanding, and a greater leadership skill as those around us go through their process as well.

As leaders, we are challenged at times to decide if we are ready or even want to grow to that next level, to lead at that level, to become even more of who we are.

If you are human, you will at times want to stop, to breath, to reconsider your choices. That is never a failing, or a weakness, rather it is an amazing gift you give yourself. When you have grown significantly, or when it is time to grow significantly,  stopping to catch up with yourself, to integrate all that is happening, is a smart and solid way of strengthening your foundation, your connection to your Spirit,  to your purpose, and to you.

Use these articles as a means to do that.

The Adventure of the Journey

By Articles, Blog

As with all of us, I am so aware that when I am focused on where I want to go in my life, and how I want to get there, amazing things happen.  It is when I sort of know, and/or I am sort of focused, that it seems everything gets stuck and it takes forever.   Life is so…

Over the years I have been interviewed by numerous magazines and newspapers as well as various TV and radio hosts in several countries. I lived overseas in Anguilla, BWI for almost ten years and in coming back to the US I have been able to see so many things I never noticed before. For one, the emphasis that is now being promoted on simplifying life and downsizing is actually a glorious step back into a world where there are so many fewer distractions…

The first week or two of a New Year is my time to review the past year (once it is over) so I can assess where I am today versus where I was last year at this time. What dreams have been actualized? What dreams no longer fit? What new dreams have been developing over the course of the year…

As a psychotherapist, I have been in the medical community since 1983.  In 1985 I became committed to alternative medicine, later renamed to complimentary health care, and then called integrative health care, regardless of the term used the theories and approach to health care in this approach are based on values I honor immensely. Last week I completed my first…

Sixty is the new forty – so they say – and I believe it!

By Blog

Sixty is the new forty! Today I attempted something that up until 4 months ago never would have crossed my mind. Today I did a half-marathon in NYC. A girlfriend, Yolanda Lowe, had suggested this but I initially thought it was outrageous.  It was so not how I saw my exercise program going. After walking numerous times from 3-4 miles…

Spring has arrived, Easter and Passover have come and gone, the sun is shining, the water looks beautiful and the buds and flowers are beginning to bloom. Another Adventure – with a Friendship Twist.

By Blog

I have said that I want life to be an adventure and I must say that, as always, we get what we ask for. After my fall in which I sprained my ankle and dealt with swelling, crutches, and an air cast my recovery thankfully, was rather swift.  I did however take the time to read, have quiet time, watch…
