Forward

Some of us, as leaders, go through a series of purpose-expressions, a series of careers, as we grow, learn and become more and more of who we are meant  to be.  Others find one avenue immediately after high school or college and stay with that one expression of their vision throughout much of their life. Whichever path you follow is yours, not right or wrong, just yours..

The one core truth we learn, however, is that whatever path we choose, there will be a continuous series of opportunities for growth or stagnation. For living our truth or being in self-betrayal. Choosing leadership, consciously or otherwise, requires that we be ready to grow in order to deal with all the challenges, opportunities, and expansions that happen as our vision takes on a life of its own. That choosing can support compassion, understanding, and a greater leadership skill as those around us go through their process as well.

As leaders, we are challenged at times to decide if we are ready or even want to grow to that next level, to lead at that level, to become even more of who we are.

If you are human, you will at times want to stop, to breath, to reconsider your choices. That is never a failing, or a weakness, rather it is an amazing gift you give yourself. When you have grown significantly, or when it is time to grow significantly,  stopping to catch up with yourself, to integrate all that is happening, is a smart and solid way of strengthening your foundation, your connection to your Spirit,  to your purpose, and to you.

Use these articles as a means to do that.

St. Patrick’s Day It Is

By Blog, Energy, Mindset, Spirituality, Values

Growing up in South Boston, Massachusetts, Saint Paddy’s Day was a day in which all the schools and businesses, other than the bars and package stores, were closed. The annual St. Paddy’s Day parade was a celebration of the Irish heritage Southie folks were so proud to claim. The standard activity included the Kennedy’s in their convertible waving at all…

There is a woman I have “known” for a couple of years now, yet finally decided to pursue to see if we could become friends rather than simply acquaintances. In speaking to this wonderful new friend today, Suzanne Taylor-King, we were both caught in the excitement of such similar interests throughout our very different backgrounds that we could each relate…

Another Day in Paradise

The adventure of life is quite a thing. For me, it means ever-questioning, ever-looking within to see if I am in alignment with my values, with me, and with my purpose. As a businesswoman, I try to stay clear on what that purpose is. Why am I here? What good have I come here to do? Does my business reflect…

Humor and Faith

I’ve just completed facilitating a 3-day global conference that was a year in the making. I had an incredible team working with me who each brought their A-game to the table. If I do say so myself, they were a gift beyond words. For the first half of the planning stage, we dealt with people leaving the team due to…

It Is Only a Small Period of Time

Speaking with clients this week I became aware that so many are speaking about the difficulties that have arisen after two years of having to stay home, avoid others, and live as a recluse in so many ways. The initial delight at slowing down, a time for themselves, time to catch up on missed shows, books they had wanted to…

Starting the Year Off With a Dream

By Articles, Blog, Business Leadership, Leadership

Another week begins. As an Executive Leadership Coach, I have supported clients through mergers where not only did they need to grow their companies and their visions, they needed to grow themselves so that they could lead an even greater sized company.  It had never dawned on them that they would need to be a greater-sized self as well… When…
