Another Adventure – with a Friendship Twist.

By October 3, 2012Blog

I have said that I want life to be an adventure and I must say that, as always, we get what we ask for. After my fall in which I sprained my ankle and dealt with swelling, crutches, and an air cast my recovery thankfully, was rather swift.  I did however take the time to read, have quiet time, watch old movies, and look at my life and the new adventures that I wanted to follow.

This time allowed me to reflect as well as reiterated how important it is to be focused (even if simply not to fall), to know what those adventures are that you want in your life, and to focus on them. I discovered in my desk a statement I wrote years ago:

Dream It     –          Focus on It      –          Put it Out There     –         Jump In!!!!

It has again called me to look at what I need to do to get to that next dream. I called so many resources that I have out there and a wonderful woman Lisa Lelas referred me to an author, Mark LeBlanc who has a book Growing Your Business which is fabulous. That in turn caused me to contact him and learn what else he has to offer. Which is now calling me to do even more focusing, clarifying, and putting it out there.  The excitement of a new adventure has returned; it is time to grow and none of us can do that in a vacuum. We need others to support us.

What are you doing to support your next dream? What help are you willing to bring in? Are you willing to even dream it? To spend the time needed to focus on it? To put it out there no matter what others say?  “Are you crazy?” “Don’t you think that is too big a picture?”  “Global?”  “You can’t do that it all has to start small, really small…”  “What makes you think?  What messages do you hear when you tell others your dreams? If you can’t get affirmed, encouraged, and supported change your friends. I AM ABSOLUTELY SERIOUS. You need folks in your life who have faith in you, who see you and accept your dreams as yours and are there for you every step of the way. Go for it!!!!!

I am off now to help a friend with a great cookie company, Connecticut Cookie Company, http://www.ctcoco.com who has a booth tonight at Eye on The Future in Westport, CT.  Friends help friends out. She needs my help and I will be there doing whatever she needs help with. Make sure you have those friends you can count on to support your every step that is where the joy and the success come from. You deserve both!
