The Necessity of Having Goals

By February 28, 2018April 2nd, 2018Articles, Uncategorized

Growing up, it never crossed my mind that having a personal goal would be the thing that would change my life. I’ve written books about it. Instead of using the term “Goal” I said, “Dream.” In living it however, they can be one and the same.

Having that goal, that dream, brings out a sense of passion, excitement, power, and, of course, momentum. Without momentum, without action, our dreams and goals are in fact simply wishes. Wishes we passively wait to come true, wishing on a star, as if they were things that happen to us rather than goals and dreams which we achieve through prayer, movement, commitment and focus.

One of the things I have learned about goals and dreams, having had so many, is that when we consistently make our dreams or goals so small we can achieve them quickly, there is no real challenge or growth. While momentary satisfaction is great and we all need it on occasion big dreams and goals, are the gifts we give ourselves.

In my personal opinion, they are gifts from our souls, calling us to grow, causing us to develop strengths, insights, and world views we never would have imagined. This results in confronting the fears and limitations that arise as we reach far beyond our comfort zone.

If you truly are to become more you than you are today, you need to dream big, you need big goals and you need to keep becoming more and more of who you are meant to be.

What are your dreams?                                       What are your goals?
