Following That Dream

One of the gifts of personal growth is realizing that in order to grow in the most efficient, effective way, we find others to walk with us along the journey. My Master Mind group has proven that in walking along side one another we have the ability to see each other’s growth, challenges, and successes in perspective. We offer support, guidance, and on occasion even tough love. Through all of that we have also provided connections, comfort, and creative ideas in taking each business to the next level.

One of my partners in this group, Andrea Greene, has been a designer in NYC for decades.  Although she has been in a number of amazing design houses, she is currently with Brooks Brothers. Along the way in her creative designs, Andrea discovered that baking was an absolute delight and stress killer for her. Before she realized it, Andrea had found her next passion, her next business, and the the next step in her life. What you have seen me say, numerous times here, is that our dreams each build on the last. Each dream calling us to to take all the skills we have developed through our past dreams and incorporate them into the new dream while adding so much more tho the mix, and to ourselves.

Andrea’s company Connecticut Cookie Company, www.ctcoco.com has taken her design to the next level. Her cookie creations, her recipes, all made with her Grandmother’s Old Fashioned Vanilla (which she has also packaged and now sells) has taken all her flair for design and business to a new level.  She has served her cookies at White House functions, to movie and TV stars, in exclusive resorts and more.  My bias, is in her design creation of her Quick Fix recipe. You will never find anything to match it. Addiction comes from recipes like this…. Do yourself a favor and check her out. You will get the best of the NYC design world combined with pure eating, and Grandma’s vanilla shipped all of over the country.

When you truly walk with someone else in such a supportive role, you discover that there is great fun in having your own business but the great gift is in having a dream that others who are walking with you want to share. The connections, the dreams, the shared visions, all come together to make following your dream something that is done as part of a support team; none of us are an island, and the team approach to personal growth is proof.  You are the one who shines, yet your partner can shine the light on you. Always follow your dream, just do yourself a favor and walk with others who are doing the same.
